We offer a complete white
metal casting and machining service for connecting rods,
main bearings and thrust bearings.
Direct casting into both steel and alloy rods can be done, along with
thick-wall shells, and the faces of thrust washers / bearings. Machining
of connecting rods and in-line boring of main bearings is carried
out to exacting standards.
If you have access to your own machining services we can supply re-cast
bearings ready to be machined. We can produce solid white metal bearings
(vintage Jowett for example) for you to machine or supply pre-machined
We can machine rod bearings to given sizes if the crankshaft does
not need grinding, or you wish to have it ground yourself.
It may be that only a damaged rod needs repair and the shaft is still
in the engine.
Or we can offer the full machining and fitting service including crankshaft
grinding.
Casting and precision in-line boring of main bearings including direct
cast bearings such as Models A, B and T Ford are no problem.
All white metal used is from new ingots of
HOYT
11R. This is a very high quality tin/antimony/copper
based white metal suitable for practically all applications including
racing.
If required HOYT 11Z3 can be used for extreme high performance
applications.
White metal camshaft bearings are also repairable by the same method.
Although the above processes are principally for pre-war engines,
post war engines fitted with thin wall shells akin to modern practises
can be repaired in a similar manner if replacements cannot be bought.
As long as the shells are in good condition they can be re-metalled
and machined.
Whilst it is predominantly automotive engines that occupy our time,
we have worked on bearings from industrial applications, steam engines
and marine engines, even rail locomotives.
If it is white metal and needs repair - please contact us.
